While other structures coverage provides valuable protection, it does not cover every type of loss or structure. Exclusions are a major source of confusion and can lead to unexpected claim denials if homeowners are not aware of them.
Flood damage is one of the most significant exclusions. Damage caused by rising water, heavy rain accumulation, or storm surge is not covered under standard homeowners insurance. Separate flood insurance is required.
